In 2024, we continued our commitment to seafarers’ healthcare, managing a wide range of medical cases, ensuring the best possible outcomes. Our medical team provides continuous support, from initial treatment to safe repatriation with dedicated medical escort.
Following highlights of our key operations from 2024, we’ve also included early 2025 cases that have already been successfully completed. Below are the most notable missions handled by Sersan:

⁃ Throughout 2024: Medical assistance to passengers and crewmembers of cruise ships at every weekly port call in Cagliari.
⁃ 26.03.2024: Independent medical-legal consultation for an onboard work injury on a ship docked in Livorno.
⁃ 17.07.2024: Removal of a foreign object from a seafarer’s eye.
⁃ 25.09.2024: Emergency surgical removal of a fishing hook from the face of a Filipino seafarer following a fishing accident onboard the vessel.
⁃ 01.10.2024: Ambulance and ferry transfer with medical escort for a polytrauma patient from Cagliari to Naples.
⁃ From 28 December 2024 to 5 February 2025: Assistance to a cargo ship captain during hospitalization and subsequent recovery in a hotel, including ambulance and ferry transfer from Cagliari to Naples, followed by medical escort to Azerbaijan.
⁃ 28.01.2025: Medical escort by our Sardinian doctor from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Mumbai, India, for a polytrauma patient.
⁃ 02.02.2025: Medical escort from Ostia to Tbilisi, Georgia, for a psychiatric patient.
⁃ From 7 March 2025 to 18 March 2025: Hospitalization of a ship captain for bronchopneumonia, with coordination between the hospital, shipowners, and family, including visits by our doctors.
